Choosing the Right Surface
Before you begin installation, choosing the right surface for your metal building is essential. The surface should be level, dry, and free of debris. It’s also essential to ensure that the surface can support the weight of your building, including any additional weight from equipment or materials stored inside.

Blueprints for our structures that are 30 feet wide and less call for a four to six-inch monolithic slab with 12″ by 12″ footers around the entire perimeter, reinforced with two #4 rebar. The pad’s body can be reinforced with welded wire mesh or a fiberglass insert. All concrete pads should be poured with 3000 PSIÂ concrete or greater. Once the concrete has cured, the engineered blueprints recommend waiting two weeks or longer before building. When our crew arrives, they will fasten your building permanently to your concrete pad using an expansion anchor or concrete anchor, geographically referred to as a redhead or tap con.Â
Concrete Anchors should be put six inches off of every single stud or upright in your building, no more than six inches away from the upright itself, and generally speaking, no less.
If you already have your concrete pad poured to fit the exact size of your building, we offer a Flush Mount Kit.
