Tree Sap can permanently damage your car. It bonds with the vehicle’s surface and begins to dry. Once that happens your paint will begin to etch and corrode. Tree sap can become extremely difficult to remove once it becomes dry and firm on your paint. Protection in the form of shelter such as a building or roof over your vehicle is recommended to prevent this type of damage.
Leaves contain tree sap, which is acidic and can cause damage to the finish on a car’s paint when left to dry. It can also pose an issue due to clogging of certain components like air intakes or drains including areas around your sunroof. It’s recommended to store your vehicle in or under a building in order to prevent leaves and debri from accumilating on your vehicle that will later cause damage.
Pollutants and contaminants are absorbed by rain water which results in impurities sticking to your car and causing damage to your car’s paint. Prolonged exposure to moisture can also create problems that include electrical issues, rusting and deterioration. Vehicles can sit parked for long periods of time allowing these issues with rain, water and moisture to arise. Keeping your vehicles enclosed and/or under a protected building will prolong the quality and life of your hard earned assets.Â
Heavy snow can cause deformation on the body and in the windshield on vehicles and equipment. These areas may begin to crack due to stress of piled snow. Ice is also bad for the paint on heavy equipment and vehicles, and will cause etching and scratching. It’s recommended you keep all vehicles sheltered and protected during winter weather.
Bird droppings are high in uric acid, a corrosive element that can quickly damage your vehicle. Bird droppings can begin to etch paint within hours after it is dry. Parking your car under a roof or inside of a building prevents this issue from happening.
Prolonged exposure of your vehicle to the sun can cause the exterior coating to become brittle and change its shape. Spots and discoloration from uv rays can also take place. Summer heat is always around the corner and with heat levels rising every year it becomes more of a priority to find ways to protect your vehicles paint and its lifespan. Heat can also effect your vehicle in other ways, damaging the interior and causing color fade or cracking on dashboards and seats. Â
