1. PREPARE YOUR SITE INSTALL SURFACE:
Our building systems can be installed on a variety of foundations including bare dirt, gravel, concrete, timbers and asphalt. The location being level is the key to a successful installation no matter which surface you choose to have your building mounted to. Once you have prepared your building site and it is leveled for install, please send pictures of your install site to your building manufacturer to help expedite the scheduling of your building.
If you intend to put your building on concrete, below is a graphic we have put together which explains how engineered plans dictate the concrete is poured for either vertical or horizontal siding applications. It is extremely important to check with your county to see if they have any further restrictions before your concrete professional begins work.
2. BE SURE YOUR SURFACE IS LEVEL
Ensuring a level installation surface is of paramount importance when erecting tubular built metal buildings. A level surface serves as the foundation upon which the entire structure rests, directly impacting its stability, longevity, and overall performance. A perfectly level surface facilitates accurate alignment and secure connections between components, mitigating undue stress on the structure. Moreover, a level installation surface aids in the proper distribution of loads, such as wind and snow, preventing uneven weight distribution that could compromise the building’s integrity over time. By providing a level base, you are creating the optimal conditions for the structure to withstand environmental forces and maintain its structural integrity, ensuring a safer and more durable building for years to come.
3. CHECK FOR UNDERGROUND UTILITIES & POWER LINES
The crucial step of checking for underground utilities and power lines cannot be overstated. This precautionary measure is essential to safeguard both the installation process and the long-term functionality of the building. Undetected utilities or power lines can pose serious safety hazards to the installation crew and equipment, potentially leading to accidents and disruptions.
Accidental damage to underground utilities can result in costly repairs and service interruptions, impacting not only the construction timeline but also neighboring properties and communities. By conducting a thorough inspection and locating underground utilities and power lines, you mitigate these risks, allowing for a smoother installation process while preserving the integrity of vital infrastructure.
This minimizes potential setbacks, ensures the safety of all involved, and contributes to the responsible and efficient execution of the metal building project.
